Personal background
I come from China, and I am a postgraduate student in astrophysics. I am 30 years old. Since I was a child, I am interested in astronomy, and now I have a chance to fulfill my dreams now.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
In my mind, I believe that our human beings are not alone in the universe. I cann't imagine that we are drifting alone in such a huge space. I am interested in searching extraterrestrial life, and I am sure that one day we could find them. Now, I'd like to turn my interests to searching extrasolar planets. This is also a means to find extraterrestrial life, I think.
Based on the belief above, I started to run SETI@home in 1999. I do think it is really a great project, I think all of us should contribute to it, if you are care of our, human beings, future in the universe.
And at last, I'd like to say that there is a little bug of this project's client: if one backs up a finished result, and run it using the finished result when the clients finised sending old data, the total number of finished results will increase 1 by 1. I hope the team will correct it in future.
