Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I truly believe that extraterrestrial life exists; it would be a shame to have all this space just for us alone. I am also confident that we will discover extraterrestrial life soon, and most likely, we will discover them by accident. The Universe is an extremely large place to know where something will be exactly. Therefore, only when we least expect it or by a form of communication that hasn't been discovered, we will run into them. Obviously, I am referring to intelligent life forms that can communicate back and not just micro-organisms. The benefits that can arise from this communication can be anything from advances in mathematics, to new technologies or even other things our minds can't comprehend yet. It’s always amazing to me that we will be able to communicate with math and logic since it's the same anywhere you go. Although, we should keep in mind that there is a possibility that they may become a threat to us as well. Since, the natural law of life is to keep living by any means.
