Personal background
Art Educator, originally from the S.F. Bay Area, working with rural Georgia math teachers in a school reform program for low performing middle schools. The goal is to help students sort through abstract concepts in ways which allow for multiple points-of-view. For the State of Georgia, the goal is improved test scores. For me, it's about teaching people to think ... and how to spell Truth with a lower case "t".
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I was studying physical science, computer programming and astronomy in a California community college during the Voyager years. I remember the uproar about sending binary messages, audio recordings and a "roadmap" created by Carl Sagan's wife, artist Ann Druyan, to invading hordes of flesh-eating aliens. I also remember thinking, "Damn. Someone might actually find the thing. Whoever they are, I hope they dig Chuck Berry."
