Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that the universe is teeming with life. It just has the good sense to stay away from us! Lol! And I believe this "life" could exist in other dimensions which we 3-dimensionable beings are unable to fathom. It's probably all around us...the benefits to mankind, on a spiritual level, would be enormous, but on the same hand, possibly quite destructive, especially to the radically repressed and fearful element of societies. But I don't think we should let that stop us from looking!
I discovered Seti years ago when reading an article about Carl Sagan, one of my all-time favorite persons & a huge influence on my thinking & being. Seti@home is a fabulous use for my computer & a great example of how we can utilize energy that would otherwise be wasted. When I'm studying, I enjoy "spacing" out now & then, gazing at the purple-blue spires & fantasizing that a particular peak is The One! |
