Personal background
Hello, my name is Ryan.
I am a wireless engineer in Sarasota FL. I have a 500MHz P3 computer that churns out a data unit about every ten days, and sitting next to it, I have a 3GHz computer that churns one out about every 6 hours. Do you think my older system feels bad about being upstaged by this newer, youger whippersnapper? Do you think I'm a little too obsessed with my computers when I worry about their feelings of jealousy? You're probably right.
In any event, I support S@H 100%, and give them access to my processors as often as possible, to the point where I don't mind the dip in performance it might present to my UT2K4 habit. That's dedication. I'm thinking about building another machine that will be used officially as a file server, but unofficially to sweeten my return numbers. In life, I aspire to be rich, and at the same time to process more data units than anyone else. I'm gaining ground fast, and I only have 1,306,782 people left to beat! Thanks for stopping by.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extra terrestrial life has to exist. If they won't let me move into a larger apartment because it requires more than one signature on my lease, then God didn't let us rent out the whole universe without a couple of other roommates.

A beacon? You mean other than 60 years of TV and radio signals? If we can spare the cash to do it, I suppose. What should we send? Well, that easy! The Family Guy boxed set! I would think that would give them the most accurate survey about life on Earth. Right?

Why do I run it. All kidding aside, I believe in the project. And I want to be the guy who processes that data unit that has what we've all been looking for. Suggestions? Cash prizes!
