Personal background
: Greetings Earthlings,

I own a recording studio in New York City. This is where I have my SETI@HOME system running. It looks impressive to clients - especially when I view it on the 50 inch plasma display. I'm 34 years old, and have been into astronomy my whole life. When I'm not producing and writing music, I love to look view the heavens through my telescope (on the roof of my NYC building), rollerblade, take in museums, and travel. Carl Sagan is my hero :-).

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
[b]: 1) Absolutely. See "The Drake Equation." We may or may not discover it in a reasonable time frame given the vast distances in space, and chances of "listening" to the right frequencies. Contrary to the pictrure Hollywood portrays - I think a civilization with technology advanced enough to make the stellar sojourn to our world, will most likely have only peaceful intentions.

2)Yes. Mathematically significant data - as science and math are truly the "universal' language.

3) I am happy to lend a helping CPU to the cause. Given our current global situation, and our propensity for self destruction....I think now would be a great time for some cosmic lessons in coexistence. Suggestion: Create a version of this application that takes advantage of dual processor computers. My dual engine Mac G4 would love to burn through some serious numbers for you! Keep up the great work. it's a pleasure to be a part of this project.
