| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| By just doing the math I am certain that extraterrestrial life must exist. Apart from that it would be a huge waste of space if life only exists here on Earth! I think that our fist contact with aliens would be initiated by them rather than us. Hopefully they already know of our existance and are still checking us out. On the other hand if we were to transmit some kind of a message out into space, I feel like its kind of like leaving your front door open, maybe a nice person will look to see if you are okay or need anything. Maybe a bad person will come in, steal from you, or kill you. Actual contact would probably benefit us in terms of technological and medicinal science. |
