Personal background
After setting up a Webserver (Linux of corse with Apache, PHP, MySql...) I recognised that this Computer isnt very busy (I suppose nobody is really interestet in the page, but that dont bother me, 'case the way is the aim). At the same time I found the Setiwebsite as a coincidence. So, I decidet to let the Server do some FFT instead of NOP's.

Althought it's a slow cpu (200 MHz, i386) I'm able to compute all 2 days a unit. You can also watch the progress at my homepage. An interesting fact is, that the Sever is as fast as my Mac G3. I think it's because Linux is a small and fast system.

So thats it for now. As soon I get my new digital camera I will put a photo of my computers and my small network at home on this profile.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm shure that there is anything out there, but I fear that's not possible for us to imagine what they maybe look like. And even the the chance that they send radiation which we can detect is small. But there is a chance and I'm on it to detect it.

The other reason why I participate is the good idea to make 'cheap' science with the unemployed computers.
