Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
It would be very ignorant to think that we are the bigshots in the Universe. Well, look around you? Wouldn't there be something more intelligent like the people around you? Of course, you are a superhuman being but what about the rest?
My guess is that we would probably find that there is intelligent life somewhere in the universe but if we would find out it would probably take us more than 80 years to send some kind of signal out to those lifeforms and probably a thousand lightyears to visit them in the most optimistic scenario so no hurry there.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't tilt our heads to sneakily look nextdoor...
