Profile: Chase A. Hyland

Personal background
My name is Chase Hyland, and I'm a member of the Mu Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Nu Fraternity. I am an amateur astronomer, and I spend a lot of time at my University's Observatory. I own a star, and I'm proud to help with Seti@home.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe that extraterrestrial life exists, it must. What happened to Earth isn't that fantastic. We're a planet in an average sized solar system orbiting an average sized star. I believe the odds of this happening are extremely great. True, they may not be as advanced as or, or maybe they're more advance. They could be in a different galaxy, or maybe even in our own... who knows? To quench our thirst of curiosity, I do believe that we should transmit a beacon for others to find; however, I hope the receivers are friendly. I run SETI@home because I've always enjoyed being involved and I hope to help any little bit that I can.
