Personal background
Well,to begin with I'm a 38yr. old iron worker(traveling from Maine to Florida building greenhouses) living in Michigans wonderful Upper Peninsula.(HOBBIES?)Self-taught computer programmer, anything to do with computers I want to know about it.I've been running seti since Aug.2002. Also in the process of setting up eight other computers in my home just to run the seti program alone (it's amazing what you can do with a lot of computer parts and a little spare time)that's about it for now...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Of course I beleive ET is out there,if you think we are the only inteligent life out there then your as blind and narrow minded as a shrew.I don't know if I'll see ET in my lifetime, but it sure would be a treat. The possible benifits far outweigh any dangers, just think about it?If we were to send some kind of signal I think it should be our table of elements, languages, something that would be somewhat easy to figure out.I run seti because my computer is never shut off,so if I'm not using it,it may as well be productive. As far as seti goes, everybody that own a computer should be running one form or another of the seti program!
