Personal background
I'm 23, from Vancouver, BC, Canada. I am a student at the Blanche MacDonald Centre for Applied Design, studying Make-Up Artistry for film and television.

I tend to be passionate about many things - I just love life and all it has to offer. I have a ton of varied interests, ranging from scientific exploration, to special effects for film, to art, music, literature, to computer sciences, to pretty much anything!

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I've never really tried to understand the universe. It is beyond my comprehension. I find all the intricacies of it fascinating and beautiful, each in it's own way. Should there *be* extraterrestrial life, I think it would be amazing to contact and share knowledge with. Whether that life is more advanced or less advanced than we collectively are, I believe we would all benefit from interaction.

So many times on television and in the movies, you see E.T. life portrayed as either super-intelligent, or a power to be reckoned with. I don't believe that is necessarily true. Perhaps there is life besides here on Earth that is on par with what we have and have achieved. Sure, it makes for lousy entertainment, but doesn't that make the most sense (think Occam's Razor) - that someone else is out there, wondering the same things we are, as we gaze at the vast expanse of blackness dotted with twinkling lights?

Maybe one day we'll see someone else in the mirror of space - maybe not in my lifetime and maybe not in yours...but isn't it worth the try?
