Personal background
I'm from London, UK. I am a 33 year old primary school teacher, who sometimes wonders if there is any intelligent life in my class, let alone off the Earth!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do I think extraterrestrial life exists? Definitely - it is pure arrogance to assume that we are the 'best' lifeform available in this universe... there are probably some real cute females on other worlds... maybe I'd stand more chance with them than with the terrestrial variety :)

I think that we will be discovered by them rather than the other way around... sooner or later, someone out there is going to decide to slum it here on Earth!

We are transmitting a beacon... our radio and television signals... whether we want ET to watch some of the rubbish we transmit is another matter.. what they will make of the Jerry Springer show when they receive it is anybody's guess!

I run SETI@home because if there are signals being broadcast out there, the more of us who process WUs, the more chance of us discovering them... if there aren't any signals, all we lose is some CPU time each... no great loss!

I think the project is pretty important, but not quite as important as my personal project to become a millionaire... if anyone would like to know more about this project, send me a cheque......
