Personal background
Working in literature and computing(http://www.robertgraves.org), I've been an avid Seti participant for more than a year.

The Robert Graves Trust website and database project are my main tasks though working for Sauce Guides (http://www.sauceguides.com) allows me to use my database skilz for the benefit of drinkers like me!

Through Deepsky Media Resources (http://www.deepsky.com), I'm hoping to advance the case for Open Source software to be deployed in academic institutions. IMHO, public funding should be going toward research, not restrictive licensing agreements!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
What I consider most valuable about SETI is that in the days of free-wheeling corporate domination of all issues, social, political and commercial, SETI demonstrates that force of human will and the spirit of contribution is something which can demonstrably produce an outcome which even the corporate dollar and most especially the corporate will would have great trouble keeping up with.
