Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Of course. I hope we'll find it through this project. I think the worst dangers therefrom would involve internal conflicts. As soon as we find life elsewhere, the Flat Earthers and fundamentalists will be working hard to bury the evidence.
2. A beacon would be good, but are we really ready to be found? Are we ready to say to the univers, "This is us"?
3. I run SETI@home because I like to be part of something bigger than myself. I think it's a wonderful opportunity to make a contribution to something cool.
