Personal background
Spiritualy free to be openminded. Bound to be understanding. Willing to explore unknown frontiers.I try hard to maintain this approach to all things. New and interesting people and events tend to enter my life this way. I've not dedicated my life to any one particluar vocation, but have experianced many. From tech to developer, from father to child. From janitor to office manager, from listener to musician. I believe it is truly only a short time we spend here, and I am comfortable with who I have become. I enjoy meaningful work and like to spend my time in wooded surroundings. Love, peace, and chicken grease.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Well, I think a possible answer lay in the math. The odds suggest it naive to think we are alone. However, until there is contact of a comprehendible nature,I believe it is noble, and logical to search out life beyond our immediate sphere. The kind of imformation we send via a beacon should be closely scrutinized in the respect of security. After all is said and done, we do not know what kind of a reception we will receive. So, I think we must ask ourselves about the true intent of "our" mission to find ET.
I think SETI@home affords me the opportunity to look at our world through the eyes of a child. I get to cast aside prejudice and ignorance, allowing me for one moment to exist in pure Gesundheit reasoning.
