Profile: Kelfa

Personal background
Just read my last profile and thought it was due an update! I did it 3 years ago!
My name is Kelly and I am 28 now and very happily married to a man who understands nothing about my job (classical musician) or the skies.
I was born and brought up in Wales, UK - moved to Hampshire, West Mids, studied and lived in London for 8 years and have lived in Cyprus for the passed almost 4 years.
My life is made up of music related things - I'm an orchestral musician, I do instrumental teaching (brass), I am creating a website for the orchestra's union (www.symekok.com) please visit and tell me what you think. I write my own music, arrange music for a group I direct at school and for my brass quartet.
I miss my telescope (10" reflector) - I am waiting until we have bought our own place before I ship it over here from the UK. I am an amature when it comes to astronomy. I love it but simply dont have the knowledge or know how. I enrolled in a basic course once but it collided with me moving here and it got put on the back burner. Now we are thinking of having kids so I guess it'll be put off again.
Not much else to say really so I'll sign off for the next 3 years!!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
My thoughts have not changed much since the first time I did my profile.
I run seti to find new people and new worlds. I think it is incredibly exciting to know that we are not alone. I would like to see how another planet like ours evolved. I would love to travel to another planet. Maybe they would have cures for our diseases and we would have cures for theirs. Maybe it would end up being nasty but its unlikely I think and I think that life is full of risks and this one is definately worth taking.
I think this project is very good - why would I be a part of it if I didn't?! I hope one day we can prove the skeptics wrong. Hard evidence would be a useful thing to have to get more support from the people that matter.
Suggestions?? If I had more intelligence I'd be well up there - I'd love to even be on the main team but I took a different direction in life so unfortunately I cannot be of much use. I think you lot do a great job and I am envious to not be so involved. If I ever think of anything, I'll let you know but if I have not come up with anything in 3 years I doubt I will in the next 3 years. Good luck for the future and I wish you all clear skies.
