Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
God didn't just create humans, and it would be foolish to believe otherwise.
God has infinite plans for an infinite number of worlds in an infinite universe.
I firmly believe that we are NOT alone. I can only hope that I live to see the
day when this is finally proven.
I'm not so optimistic about the peaceful intentions of another form of life, I
don't think humans will have a monopoly on aggressive behavior. I can only hope
that whomever we first contact will have more wisdom, and more intelligence than
we seem to. if a beacon ends up costing us our existence, then I guess it was
bound to happen anyway. We can't hide.
I've been running the seti software on unix and windows for almost 3 years. I
think it's infinitely more useful than participating in some stupid cryptographic
challenge. At least we're contributing spare cpu resources to a worthy cause.
