Personal background
Possibly of Extraterrestrial Origin but not sure. Still looking for that signal that will send me home. If you find it, let me know.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
There are many unexplained things and events in the universe and here on Earth. Many could be explained by the presence of visitors from other galaxies and dimensions. Will we ever know for sure? I doubt it. If they are there and haven't contacted us so far, I can't believe that they will just one day decide to do it. If they are there and don't know we're here then the possibility exists that they could be reaching out and exploring as we are. In such case, it would be beneficial for us to have some kind of beacon in space that brodcast our celestial position in the charted regions of space.

I think SETI is a worthwhile project. Even if it fails to identify alien life
it may still uncover some of the secrets of our universe. Contributing to such a large project is satisfying even if all I have to do is leave my computer screensaver running when I'm not using my computer. All of the SETI@home users can contribute much more than any single computer would be capable of. It makes Sci-Fi real.
