Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I don't care if there is extraterrestrial life; I care if there is sentient non-terrestrial life. Stupid or merely uneducated lichen on the side of rocks don't interest me. We don't need to send a beacon for intelligent life to find us. We are already a very audible radio freq. in the sky. If something-out-there wants to talk to us, they will let us know that it's time. I believe that SETI@home is worthwhile because, "It's prudent to know who and where your neighbors are, even if you don't what to talk to them. There may be things we don't want to know."
