Personal background
I am a 26 year old computer technician and casting agent from Toronto, Ontario. I have been curious about space and what is out there for as long as I can remember. From growing up always trying to save up for the latest telescope attachment or just plopping in front of the idiot box watching Star Trek and X-Files. Even to this day, whenever I am outside the city I enjoy just laying on the grass for hours looking up at the stars and letting my imagination wander...
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
When I first learned of Seti@home 5 years ago, I knew I had to be a part of it. Although my participation sometimes dwindles to next to nothing for months at a time, I still believe that this is a very important project from the position of knowing what is out there.

I also feel that BOINC in general is a great tool because super-computers just can't handle the loads of data that pour in from all sources. And if Google can use multiple computers to revolutionize the internet search market, then there is no reason that the same idea could not be put towards discovery, whether out in space or to cure a disease. Even though we are not a significant part of the results of the data, it still feels nice to help out in any way possible...
