Personal background
What an age of discovery we live in! Space travel, unraveling of the human genetic code, artificial intelligence, worldwide information sharing by internet! On the verge of a Mars trip, of human clones, of fusion power, we still have so far to go. Growing up in the rural midwest,I remember Sputnik's 'beep' on the radio, the first manned flight, the moon landings. Yet, can we survive this turbulent time of climate change, fusion weapons, invisible planes, continent-wide starvation, disease, and constant warfare and genocides? We can, and we must. These data sharing projects provide resources and spread awareness that everyone needs to do their own part to help understand our world, the universe, and ourselves, and then do good things with that information. I challenge you, the reader, what can YOU do to make this a better world? In what way can YOU make a contribution to others that ONLY YOU can make? This contribution of computer time is one of the small contributions I am happy to make. Thanks for making this network possible.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run this program to help improve our understanding of the world, and to contribute something to its betterment through helping scientific discovery.
