ET life exists, with Dennis Rodman (and perhaps Bill Gates) providing us proof of that. If we were to transmit a beacon, we should send a continuous loop of Gilligans Island re-runs. I can't think of anything less likely to provoke an interstellar war and more likely to result in our receiving pity (and perhaps therapy) from a more advanced race.
I initially signed on to the Seti@home project because I thought it would surreptitiously download alien porn from the galactic internet. Sure, I was disappointed when I found out what it is really used for, but I am too lazy to un-install it. |
