No danger. Benefit would be that religious dogma would be proved wrong. But it won't happen that way.
It can't hurt
Basic binary mathematics.
Because it's there. Because it helps to speed up result.
Seems fun. People want to know the answer. Project has helped open up new methods of distributed processing.
Give users better control of their work. For example, I've had to change my e-mail address, but I can't change it in SETI. I also have several machines, but SETI@Home doesn't let me use the same address on more than one machine. Also, I can't get into my dead account to reassign totals. |
