Profile: Ba'alzamon

Personal background
Greetings Noble and not-so-noble Warriors!
I am Ba'alzamon, my real life name is Jitte Groothuis, I'm 17 years old, I live in Noordeloos, a small village located in the Netherlands. Other nics I use are: Moridin, Ishamael, Elan Morin Tendronai (note that these four are actually all the same person ;-)) and some others, but I mostly use Ba'alzamon
I started using Seti@home about 3 years ago, at that time I used a Pentium 60, and Seti@home was only used as a screensaver. After that I took a small break, then I installed Seti@home on my new PC, a Pentium II 233, again, only using as a screensaver. Now I have a new PC, with an Athlon XP 2000 , and 512 MB ram, so Seti@home runs all the time. I also tried to pursuade my dad to install it, but for some insane reason he keeps refusing :-S.
I used play a lot of TCG's, mostly Pokémon and LotR, I did that in a comic shop Bij-B, a really cool place to be and I had a lot of friends there, but now that shop is closed, so I had to find new ways of entertaining myself. Now I play lots of games, mostly singleplayer games, cos I can't play online games at home. My favorite games are RPG's, and my favorite RPG is Morrowind! It's totally awsome. I also like to play Rune a lot, it's a 3th person action/adventure game based on the Unreal Tournament engine, but there are no guns involved, it's a pure viking style hack 'n slash game! It's really cool to play it online, but as I said, I can't do that @home, so I do that in the Internet-Café in the town where I go to school, Gorinchem. At this moment I am in my final years, which is called the 6th grade in holland, I am on a Gymnasium, the highest form of high school education. Next year (íf I finish my exams off course) I will go to the Technical University in Eindhoven, there I will do Biomedical Engineering. I'm not sure what I'll do afterwards, maybe I'll go to England and study Cybernetics at Reading University, I'm very interested in that as well.
May you always find water and shade, Ba'alzamon
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Off course extraterrestrial life exists! After all, the universe is so big, wouldn't it be a awful waste of space... (:-), now I really have to be user of the day, making quotes like that... Contact, anyone?)
But really, yes, I think it exists. I don't think humans will discover aliens, I think aliens will discover us. After all, our solar system is believed to be somewhere in the 'outher rim terretories', so it is quite possible that aliens who live close to the center of the universe, or at least close the the beginning of the universe, live longer and therefor are more evolved and have better ways of spacetravel and so on. Transmitting a beacon could help us with being found, but what sort of information, I don't know. Maybe something like 'give us warp technology or we'll nuke you!':-).
