Profile: Ernie Runyon

Personal background
Originally from Staunton, VA, entered US Army at 18, moved to Texas where I've been for the most part, the past 33 years. I was a network engineer, specializing in data infrastructure design and implementation until 9/11/2001 which caused a slump in the hospitality and telecomm industries. Since then have been self-employed.
Buy obsolete computer systems, etc. from ISDs, local gov't, etc. Clean, repair and resell on eBay, perform network setups and PC/Laptop repair.
My hope is that my system will be the first to pick up a transmission from ET.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that in leiu of the vast evidence that other planets exists, man cannot possibly be so vain as to think he alone is the master plan of the universe. God may have chosen this orb for his testing ground, but who is to say he didn't have more than one lab?

The SETI project must continue if we are to expand our knowledge of the solar system and venture from it. We need a listening post if we are to pinpoint inteligent life amongst the stars.
