| Hi everyone, I'm an American college student. I like computers, science, and math, which are the reasons why I signed up for SETI@Home in the first place. |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

1.)I believe that extraterrestrial life exists. I have yet to conceive of where or how it might exist, but I am certain that it does. I suspect that our first contact with alien species might be something like what's featured in the "World War" and "Colonization" series by Harry Turtledove.
2.)We should, though I'm not quite sure what should be in it.
3.)I run S@H because a) its a screen saver b) I'm nice enough to loan my spare CPU cycles to someone who needs them. My ideal S@H machine would be one of the new dual 800Mhz G4 Macs running the text-based OS X client. I would also chock it full of memory. One feature that I would really love is this: on the individual user account pages, keep track of the standard deviation of the work times in addition to their mean. |
