| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I believe life exists somewhere in the universe, although I also believe that
the only way we are going to find proof is through receiving far-off signals.
From the time the originators broadcast, we receive and detect it, politicians
warble on national security issues, decide on a message to send, reply and it
travels back to the originator, the race will probably be extinct. Conversation
is not an option...they are probably not listening to us. The technology and
physics won't exist this century to allow faster than light communications or
travel, ... but ...
Just to hear another voice... not to be alone... to share in life...
To have a brother, even a distant one, opens the heart and soul... fills a void.
