Personal background |
Greetings Earthlings,
I have been working in Aerospace for nearly twenty years, as a Packaging
Engineer. Someone has to do it, it might as well be me. My job moved me
from Michigan prior to graduation from Michigan State Univ. when I went to
work for Hughes Aircraft. After several years there I transferred to McDonnell
Douglas (old Douglas Aircraft Co.) where I work on a new emerging program called
the C-17. This program lead to my being transferred to South Carolina to set up
a Field Services support site. After seven years in Charleston I volunteered
once again to transfer and set up a new location near Tacoma, WA. Three years
later I transferred into mother Boeing and have resumed my duties in pure
packaging engineering supporting the commercial aircraft programs, 737 and 757.
I am a family man who enjoys the outdoors. I am teaching my girls softball now
and plan to take them on many a camping trip. I want them to be confident
around boats and machinery, yet still maintain their girlish charms. I hope to
be able to ski with them late in life and stay important in their lives.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
Yes, ET exists. It is folly to believe we are the only ones here. I believe
that we have been visited many times, but they are smart enough to reveal
themselves to us slowly, so that we can get use to the idea. I also believe
that some evidence is already know by some and will be released to the public
as we prove ready to except it. The biggest danger I fear is that not all
explorers are peaceful, that we will come across a force that is not to our
liking.
At this time I do not think we should announce our existence. I think we
should listen, wait, learn and then respond to what we have learned. I think
our everyday activities transmit enough about who and what we are, but I don't
think we should go and leave the front door unlocked until we are ready for the
unexpected.
I run Seti because it is the right thing to do. We can achieve the above much
faster if we all pitch in and help. I think we should be prepared and the first
step is knowledge.
