Profile: Dave Schultz

Personal background
I am a computer programmer for the University of Wisconsin-Extension in Madison Wisconsin. I have always been interested in science and science fiction and continue that interest today. Scientific Amerrican is one of the science magazines that I read steadily and peruse many others. Bicycling, weight training, woodworking and music fill the rest of my time, of course when I am not on the computer.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
In a universe as ours and billions of years old, we are the only form of "intelligent" life? Let's face it, I believe that there are other forms of life out there and that some of it is going to be intelligent and much smarter that we are. Are they friendly? Are they hostile? I guess we won't know until contact is made. Seti@home is a worthwhile project to attemp to answer the question "are we alone" and should be used by more people.
