Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do you think extraterrestrial life exists?
No doubt in my mind.

If so, when and how will humans discover it?
Who do I look like, Nostradamus? Hopefully in my lifetime.

What are the possible benefits and dangers of such a discovery?
Benefits - we'll see a MASSIVE advancement in technology and human knowledge. Our capabilitites as a civilization will expand drastically.
Dangers - our governments can't even handle relationships with civilizations on our own planet. I'd hate to see how they bugger up a coalition with an entirely new Kingdom of being.

Should humans transmit a beacon for others to find?
Hell ya we should.
If so, what information should we send?
A map of our solar system and galaxy. Mathematical equations explaining our theories and number systems (decimal, binary, etc).

Why do you run SETI@home?
Why waste processor cycles on OpenGL screensavers when I can donate them to the advancement of humankind?
What are your views about the project?
This is by far the coolest grid computing project ever. SETI has my full support.
Any suggestions?
Keep feeding my crunchers Work Units and they'll keep searching.
