I do belive intelligent extraterrestrial life exist. The setiathome project even though it is a step in the right direction, it represents a miniscule effort in the search for ET. With every new adventure or discovery there is a great potential for danger, I beleive the benefits of such an event of this magnitude outweigh any potential dangers.
In regards to human transmiting a becon for others to find, in a superfluous way, we have by sending our tv and radio signals around the clock. If there is intelligent life out there, just by watching our tv show I don't think they would like to make contact with us. We sure make our point as a barbarian society, with the amount of violence and hate in our planet.
I run Setiathome in the hope that one day we will find an intelligent source in the galaxy, this might bring our planet with its different races and societies much closer together and we might beging to live and get along with each other. |
