Personal background
Hi, I am a 41 year old computer geek as some of my friends say. I am a jack-of-all-trades...a mobile DJ for 22 years, a Network Admin guy for several different companies and now I am Audio/Visual and publications guy in Lodi, CA. I am also a programmer in PHP, Cobol (financial), SQL, and just about any programming language that strikes my fancy. I am married to my wife, Debbie, for 15 years (known her for 18) and have a daughter, Katrina, who just turned 16 this year. I enjoy programming, surfing the web, SCI-FI, and playing StarCraft with my buddies over the internet. I enjoy high-tech so much that I got my little brother involved in computers, seti, and StarCraft as well! Someday I will get a life, but in the meantime I am here movin and shakin my part of the internet. God Bless.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think there are ET's out there, but I don't think they are anything like we expect. They are going to turn out to be something we never thought of...Will we discover them? No, the chances of that are so slim that a statistition would go nuts! We only scan a small corner of the sky each night and the chances of us listening while they happen to be transmitting is way less than nil. Why would I do this if I thought we were not going to find them this way? Hey! This is still a really cool idea and the thought that my computers are busy doing stuff connected to millions of other computers across the globe is mind bending. I will search my units and maybe someday be proved wrong.
