Personal background
Greetings! My name is Mark Haas, I'm currently 36 years of age, a 'savior of technology' to my friends, familiy and co-workers, born and raised and live and work in the San Francisco Bay Area in Sunnyvale, CA. Although, I have seen a good portion of this Earth, on which we all happen to reside upon. I've recently taken up flying lessons, which is an amazing experience to say the very, very least. Everything seems... completely different when you're flying above this wonderful California coastline to, say, Half Moon Bay. Experiencing it all, one big bite after another, gulping it all down as fast as you can, and damn the hiccups! Not married, and, I'm somewhat convinced that searching for intelligent life in the Universe is similar to searching for that 'right' person to compliment your life. Enough said about that I guess.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Carl Sagan once wrote "The Cosmos is rich beyond measure - in elegant facts, in exquisite interrelationships, in the mystery of awe."

One has but to close one's eyes and imagine something greater which surrounds us all. Like, when Humankind discovered that it was something in the air we breathe which made it possible for us to exist. It was there all the time, yet, simply not known until discovery. What other discoveries are waiting for us to find them? Worldwide cures for diseases, energy, nutrition, currency, hate, and one day, galactic lonliness.

I would like to one day meet and thank the people on the SETI team for their efforts and contributions for making possible, another step on the long path of discovery.
