I think that it is inconceivable that there is not extraterrestrial life out there. It is only a matter of time although it could be a LONG time before we come in contact with other life forms. I only hope that as the human race, we haven't self destructed before it happens.
I think SETI@home is one of the better technological ideas of the 20th century.
