Personal background
I’ve always believed that those who believe that life doesn’t exist elsewhere in the galaxy are arrogant beyond measure. As a lifelong Deadhead and one who is willing to accept the unexplained I signed up for SETI as soon as I saw it on my local news.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
My only “encounter” was while I was in the USMC serving as an Air Traffic Controller in Japan. I was on the 10 pm to 7 am shift and had just finished an approach when one of my buddies ran in and urged me to come outside. We looked up into the early morning sky and saw a light moving erratically, I rushed inside and fired up the radar and there it was, it wasn’t squawking any identifying code and it was moving much to fast to be a helicopter and it sure wasn’t a jet. From that day forward I was sure we weren’t alone. BTW, this happened in 1969.

We will discover life at some point, who knows when.
