Personal background
I have been in the computer business close to 40 years and believe I am not alone in the universe. I enjoy using my equipment for the hunt and applying better ways to process more units. I have a Dual Sun Sparc processing 6 work units at a time, one Athlon classic 1000 under NT server, one P4 1.8GH under W2K. My occupation at the moment is network engineer I am a consultant in my own business. I started in the mainframe business with UNIVAC the machines had tubes in them.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. Yes!

2. If the folks out there are as interested in us as we are in them then there are a lot of radio transmissions from earth that can be heard MAYBE. To that end we transmit stuff all of the time - what a signature for human kind! I guess if ET detects any of it then they must have an interesting opinion about us assuming they understand what they hear.

3. Challenge to use my compute power - And the possibility of discovering ET.
I think this project is a wonderful thing for me it gives me an outlet to
focus on.
