I think life exists elsewhere, the question is not if we will discover it, but when?
I don't think we should transmit a beacon because the human race is evolving so fast that the message we send today may not be valid when it is recieved tomorrow.
I run Seti@home in the hope of expanding our knowledge of the universe and to hopefully find another intelligent species.
