Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do think extra terrestrial life exists. I also beleive that we may never find it. To add to that I also beleive it's possible that life does not exist in the universe. Based on our limited knowledge of the universe who says that our universe is all and everything. Our planes of existance might be sustained in ways we've never conceived. Everything evolving from energy might be our view, but there may be other forms of movement as such.

Transmitting a becon from Earth is a very obvious thing to do. We've gotta get to know our neighbours if we're gonna settle in.

I run seti as I beleive in a collaberative effort on acheiving bigger things. I don't necessarily run seti to find ET.

I feel that seti should expand on what power they have. Millions of users all contributing to this combined processing. Can other tasks be performed with this power??? Why not something to do with a universe modelled by each user being a there own planets. each user's pc dedicates itself to positioning within the user group's solar system based on momentum, gravity, forces, etc. Maybe this pc programme could run simple life experiements, illustrating population growth. each group of users exists in a multiple solar system in the biggest virtual universe ever.
