Profile: Diane L. Smith

Personal background
Born 6/5/1948 at Ft Meade MD. Being an Army Brat, I traveled and lived in a lot of places in the US and Europe. I now reside in the San Francisco Bay Area (Marin County) which is a piece of heaven here on earth. I was bite by the computer bug back in 1985 and ran a BBS for nine years before the internet became the "thing". I became involved with the beta testing of Windows95 and have been glad that the world embraced computers. The earth has gotten smaller as we have reached out to know one another. I went back to college and got a degree in Accounting. I now specialize in installing Accounting Computer Systems for small businesses and love to teach others how to use them. I feel very lucky to be doing something that I love so much. Numbers talk and I try to listen.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
With the world getting smaller it is time to look beyond and that is why I have been part of the Seti@home project for years. We need expand our LOVE of everything and hopefully find peace on this planet. We need to also know that we are just a very small part of a much bigger world.
