Personal background
Hey there.
I'm from this quadrant of space but my true origins are unspecified. This tool is a wonderful opportunity for all to get involved in answering the most obvious of questions, " Is there intelligent life out there?" One response might be, "If we are the only intelligent life in the known galaxy, then the universe is in BIG TROUBLE." This is not a matter of hope, it is a matter of time.
All the best.....Ron
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Discretion is not always the better part of valor and assumption can generate more than we might want to expect. For a species that still explains the unexplainable with religious metaphors and the supernatural, I consider that for the moment, things look somewhat bleak. If alien life stood before our very eyes, we might not even recognize it. Humans have historically and redundantly proven to be incompetent as a species. They fight and hoard amongst themselves never considering their humanity as one. Should a time ever be that gods are are abandoned and Earth is of one people, perhaps then we might have some hope. As for now. Humanity is a selfish and paranoid species that is both hostile and unpredictable. I believe it common knowledge that intelligent life permeates through-out all of the universes. Should that hand ever be extended to Earth, please remember that we have never been alone. But we have always been ignorant.
