Some people run seti@home because they compete, like "WOW LOOK I JUST COMPLETE MY 100 WORK UNIT"
That's realy good. I meen it, it's helping seti@home to find something. I run seti@home because I am conviced that there is life from out of space. By letting other people to compete with it, it dose also support the Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence. Ofcource then they are these how runs it because of the SETI.
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
