Hi folks,
I was born 1966 in Hamburg, Germany and I am still living in that area in the north part of Germany. My interests has been hooked to space (not only outer space) since the first moonlanding 1969. Of course, I have been very young then (3 Years is really young), but there have been so many pics about the Apollo-Mission, that my interest about "the universe" grew up. Today I like to read Sci-Fi-Books (Fantasy-Books too), I would like to be apart of the Gene Roddenbury Universum, that seems to be a good idea for the future of mankind.
I earn my money by giving other people the opportunity to visit events, I am the technical manager of a city-hall in a town near Hamburg. You see, there is a technical background. I think our future must and will be technical, but the connection between the user (all of us are a kind of users) and the technical environment has to be softer, not so "technical" (or do you think a mouse and a keyboard is natural?). Look at the Cyberpunk-books, published in the late 70s and 80s, isnt it a terrible future (nice books, anyway).

1. Yes, but maybe they discover us!! No, thea are not dangerous, yes they are dangerous! Is every man (or woman) peacefull, ist every man/woman deadly? We should act like good politicians for foreign affairs: Look, See, Act and hope the best. We could learn about other societies (as we haven't understood all of the terrestrian societies!!) What happens, if thea are more interested in settling on earth! Ooops! I dont think, that thea could use us as slaves (why should thea? They can travel between stars!)
Ok, the "First Contact" (not the Vulcanians and the Earthlings) will be more on a theoretical base: Connection by radio, swapping signals! But, that will destroy Good (or will build Him up, I dont know!). There would be a great Change on earth!
2. Yes, would make some things easier: We show, that we are interested in contact. We do send signals for about 100 years to any direction, very egoistic, as we are not interested to contact somebody. Lets shout: Hello, we are here and tea is ready, lets come and have a party! The content of the signal? Dont know, a spiritual species is not interested in mathematics, technologie... Maybe we should send easy understood Symbols, like school-education for the very young kids!

No, thats not all: I want to have contact to the others!
My views: Have you thought about all possibilities to put information in signals? Maybe we have to compute the signals in some years again! Well, our PCs (with or without Bill Gates) will be much faster then! |
