Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. yes because the probability is quiet high. Technology Research exchange to
improve life for everyone. There is no danger only challenge :)

2. yes, then we can find each other faster, what we`ll do anyway if technology
further improves. The information could be something like prime numbers that
only tell the receiver that something interesting was the sender.
3. Is perhaps more usefull then a screensaver, seti has in contrast to other
more useful programs (for curing cancer, finding molecules ...) milestones
my PCs can find if they were shut down over night. I only try to use the IDL
modes of my CPU. (Thats what grid computing will do in a few years.)
Seti is a good example to set up clusters out of many (more or less low cost
components). I hope coming operating systems will implement this idea so
that I can use my own cluster also for my own. Uptil now I still have to
write PVM or MPI based software for my own :(((
