Personal background
So, what should I tell you? Originally I was born in Germany, for the job I moved to the United States. Please excuse if my english is a little bid rusty. I learned it at school 20 years ago, so how am I doing so far? I am a Sci-Fi fan, that's why I belong to the group named "Babylon 5". This series always inspires me of thinking beyond our own solar system. I would like to be reborn in a time where we achieved to travel faster than light and managed to form new communities on other planets. So far we discovered that there are planets out there, how many nobody can tell. Like I heared "wouldn't it be an awfull waste of space, if we are alone in the universe?"
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I'm rather sure there is life out there. The possibility that we could find it is in my opinion close to nothing. Not only because it is so far away, but everything in our society depends on money. We can only manage to achieve something bigger than we are now when we work together. That may be the real big problem we have. I think we are not ready for such a discovery yet. Never the less I run SETI@home because I like the idea that we will find something out there that may change our future.
