Personal background
Hello...

I am a thirty-nine year old director/actor/producer/writer residing in Brooklyn, New York. Following in the example of my father and grandfather, my hobbies include anthropology, archeology, linguistics, and astronomy. ("They're all connected." as my father would say.) A healthy balance of arts and sciences. I also speak five languages. I love many diffrent genres of performing arts from film noir and Brechtian theatre to performance art and poetry slams. And, I'm also a HUGE sci-fi fan. If you want to know more, ask.

(On a personal note, I am single (gay male) and good looking. (Hint, hint.))
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Do I think ET life exists? Why, yes. In think it is arrogant to say that we are the only intelligent life? There are simply too many possibilities. I honestly believe that some humans may have already encountered an ET life form. When and how will we get verification of ET life? I think we may soon find proof of extaterrestrial microbes first. As for contact with an ET intelligence, I think it will be soon. Benefits or dangers: What are the benefits or dangers of initial contact with any foriegn culture? We have to look at our own history to theorize. But, we should send a signal, make the effort for contact. I think the most crucial information that we should send is simply that we are here and our location.
I run SETI@home so that I can help the effort. It also gives me hope for the future and its limitless possibilities.
