Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I like the fact that my computer is churning out work when I am nowhere to be found. There isn't much more interesting in the use of this technology then the search for other forms of life. I think the project is a great way to show kids that there are far more of us that contribute then there are those of us who take. I have young children who I signed up. When they are a little older I want them to understand that there old man was out there (scientifically thinking) reaching for the stars when they thought I was totally out of it!
