Profile: CarbonUnity

Personal background
Hi! I'm a programmer by profession and education. I am an American, of East Indian descent, 37 years old and single. My logon ID "CarbonUnity" represents peace on Earth... peace among all carbon life forms... including humans, animals, plants and aquatic creatures. I'm an outgoing and optimistic man who hopes that, with the help of technology, we as the modern day human race can live on this beautiful planet in a fashion that does not threaten all other life. I hope we can find a comfortable balance between the needs of individuals & society, and the needs of the atmosphere, wild life and our precious oceans. I'm disturbed by the current degree of adverse impact our society (United States and internationally) have on the ecology and natural balance of the planet. The discovery of alien life would have an incredible impact on our view of each other, our planet and it's resources.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe that extraterrestrials exist and I believe in UFOs. However, I think may modern-day sightings are government cover-ups. There are many significant artifacts on our little blue planet that point to the possibility that aliens have visited us in the past. I hope that they will pay us visit in the near future as well. We are sending out enough signals into space to call attention to ourselves... hopefully someone out there who has interplanetary travel technology hears our message and replies with a visit in person. I also believe that shows like Star Trek, though I enjoy the show, are very narrow minded to depict all alien life forms as air-breathing bi-peds. Who knows, maybe the visiting aliens might be aquatic creatures with their vessels filled with water instead of air. Their physical appearance would be radically different than what shows like Star Trek lead you to believe.
