Personal background
I'm 39 years old and live in Renkum in the Netherlands.Since i was about 14 i have been interested in extraterrestial live and exobioligy.
I learned about the SETI Project through publications of the Planetary Society.
Now that i have a more powerfull computer,i thought it was time to participate
in the search for E.T.signals.
Whenever I have nothing to do behind my computer or when i'm on the internet i
let the program run.Even while i'm writing this ; Seti@home is running.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe life exists out there in the universe. And we may find it tomorrow.
Who knows.
I think that we should try to take a diplomatic approach to any contact with any
alien life form.Especially if they would visit us.
We could think about making something like the Prime Directive you hear about in
the Star Trek series.
I like the idea of one of the members:Sending a message with only the picture of our planet.
We could also send a picture of the sender.
When they answer the message in the same way , then we know at least what there
planet looks like and how they look.
I hope we can broaden our search to other parts of the sky , because at the moment we are just looking at a small portion of it.
