Personal background
I'm retired!!
I'm married, have four children and 11 grandchildren.
Enjoy watching, playing with and attending their various
functions. Mine of course are the prettiest, handsomest
and smartest grandchildren there are today. My kids weren't
bad either.
Was General Supervisor (Manager) of Utilities and
Instrumentation Dept of the Pittsburgh Works of LTV Steel Corp.
Enjoy gardening, cooking, walking and sports in general.
My favorite sport is football and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Was able to attend three of their six Super Bowl Wins, IX,X,
and XLIII, memories of each are special. My favorite Steeler
is Franco Harris, what a running back especially when it meant
something.
My favorite Baseball player was Roberto Clemente. Used to
attend Pirate game and sit in right field just to watch him
up close. He could do it all.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yes I think Extraterrestrial Life exists.
With all the billions of planets there must be, surely one somewhere has the necessary ingredients to support life. I wouldn't be surprised if once our civilizations finds a way of co-existing with one another, we will be contacted by some Alien Civilization. In the mean time it sure doesn't hurt scanning the sky and finding the location of this other life form.

Should we transmit a beacon for others to find us? Not sure of this. We sure wouldn't want to attract a warring culture. Maybe it would just be best for us to find them.

I run Seti@home because of my explanations above. i think the project is a very necessary project. It should have more backing by our government. I'd like to see a little more feedback on the data we send to Seti.
